Good idea! I had AOL v5 years ago and automatically got a bad attitude every time I signed on! It took me a year to get rid of all the tentacles on my system!
I do think you need some clarification on browsers though. AOL is many 'things' and let's ignore them for now:
You will need a browser: Choices:
1. Internet Explorer is bundled as a Windows Component- already on the system.
2. I've been using Firefox for over 4 years with great pleasure.
3. Another choice is Opera or Safari or Chrome.
You can actually have multiple browsers on a system.browser and this is a consideration:

Many of of us began on AOL. AOL put us in a cyber car and took us where THEY wanted us to go. On the other hand, other ISPs gave us the highway and let us go where we wanted. AOL told us what we could save, how we could save it. Many operating system choices aren't available on AOL.
