What happened? My PC won't come on

Hi all, my computer won't come on, well it does for one second then immediately turns itself off

It's not the power supply I tried a working one in it and it does the same.

I think a power cut may have caused it. It was working for a day after but who knows?

Try another outlet, can you give us more details about your pc specs.

AMD 2.4ghz dual core, my mobo is nvidia I think.

Well, if I plug it into another outlet it comes on but stays blank. If I plug my gfx card in (nvidia 9800 gtx pci-e) it doesn't come on at all.

That power cut messed everything up didn't it?

Have you changed any settings in the bios?Need to do some selftest.What brand is it?Need to narrow things down

My mobo is a winfast. On my driver disk it says 6150m2ma and 6100m2ma.

It was a barebones bundle from novatech, I installed my own HDs dvd, and psu.

I didn't change any bios settings, I can't, the pc is litterally dead as far as I can tell. I can't access ANYTHING at all. I either get a blank screen (my monitor doesn't power up, it stays in standby mode) or I get nothing at all if my gfx card is plugged in, as in I press the power button and nothing happens at all.

From this to me it seems as though this computer is a gonner

I bought a new mobo bundle, this one: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?MBB-240V2G

I put it in my old case and the EXACT same thing is happening.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Check for any shorts between the mobo and case (parts where the mobo is directly touching the case).
