Is it worth over clocking An core2duo intel 3.6 E8500 ? ...Asus 9800GTX+ darkknight im using a gigabyte mobo EP43-DS3 and 4 gig of ram running a """500 watt psu"""" it is the PSU im Questioning , I have replaced two CPU fans since ownership they start making grinding noises only when first starting computer from cold,

Do you mean overclock the E8500 or the 9800gtx+?
I would recommend against overclocking the E8500 more than it already is.

my E8500 is at 4.0GHZ with a good cooler and motherboard though. and my 9800GTX+ is at 800 core and 2400 memory. i don't think you need to overclock the E8500, the only reason i have mine at 4.0GHZ is for the bragging rights
