Overclocking Noob

I want to overclock my rig and was wondering if anyone can advise my on how to so safely? My CPU is an Intel E8500 3.16Ghz, cooling this is an Artic Freezer Pro 7 i also have 3 120mm + 1 250mm fans in my Antec 900 case. My CPU idles at 38c hope some of this info helps..
