was trying to downgrade Vista Home to XP, but in doing so I misread a couple steps and installed XP drivers for the chipset and BIOS (instead of putting them on a new WinXP install disc including the drivers). The Notebook would make it to windows and boot from the CD drive before but only sometimes. Now it won't even come close to Booting to Windows or from the CD drive. Repair disc doesn't finish, Checking the file system for errors doesn't finish. I don't think any of the hardware is bad. If I can just find a way to get it to boot from the cdrom I'm pretty sure I can install XP and everything will be fine, it's just getting it to boot up i'm having a problem with. When windows starts a blue screen flashes error number 0000102.

Reseat the system memory. You may have a bad memory module
