ok, when i start up HL2 EP 2 just before i get to the menu the game shuts down and tells me that the game need a minimum of directx 8.0 to run. i have direct x 9 installed but get this, i know even if your video card can support directx 7 it may not be able to run DRX 8.0. now get this portal requires the same visual specs as HL2 EP 2 to run and i can run portal just fine? why is that? portal never asks for dirextx 8.0 to run.
basically something is wrong here and i know it can be fixed with out me having to buy a new video card. so what do i do?
