Continuing the healthy spread of broadband we see (in countries that already widely have it) BT in the UK has managed to extend the range (http://news.zdnet.co.uk/communications/broadband/0,39020342,39163889,00.htm) of its ADSL services, increasing availability across the UK.
Previously, problems with cable lengths over 6km had prevented some 4 percent of homes and businesses who lived in a BT broadband enabled area from getting the service. This amounted to some 1,000,000 potential customers.
With broadband internet access very likely to be a strong component of future home multimedia (http://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14850) in the future, this is definately good news.
