Released only two days ago, OpenGL 2.0 (http://www.opengl.org/documentation/opengl_current_version.html) is the sixth revision since the original version 1.0. It is fully backwards compatible and includes a number of enhancements, including Programmable Shading, Multiple Render Targets, Non-Power-Of-Two Textures, Point Sprites, Separate Stencil and many other enhancements. I am not entirely sure what these things really mean, but you can be sure that they will mean nicer, smoother graphics. Its really good to see OpenGL going strong.

This should hopefully herald more OpenGL based games with more up to day graphics (and more cross platform operability)...

I didn't expect OpenGl to come back from the dead. Well half dead maybe. I was expecting it to join Glide in the realm of forgotten graphic APIs.

It's been down but I would not call it dead yet, especially with Doom 3 & MS going to a "NEW" api for Direct X.
