The OQO (http://www.oqo.com/) is one of a small number of palmtop computers due to supercede PDAs and handhelds (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1645013,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532). The devices will be smaller, but much more functional and powerful. An OQO model 1, for example, is a functional Windows XP PC. It contains a 1-GHz processor, as well as 256-Mbytes of RAM, a 20-Gbyte hard drive, a color display, plus FireWire, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Sounds like all one would need. Pricing is still to be confirmed, however we are almost certainly looking at sub-$2,000. No word yet on when these sexy little babies will ship, unfortunately.
