Microsoft's Live Communications Server

Due out this month (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1667692,00.asp) is Microsoft's Live Communications Server 2005, an enterprise instant-messaging server that is key to the company plans to conquer the telephony market. Microsoft describes the software as "a next-generation enterprise instant messaging (IM) and presence-awareness server." Microsoft also plan to use LCS 2005 as a way to gain a toehold in the voice-over-IP (VOIP) space.
