ATI revises PCIe takeup forecasts

"Slower-than-expected sales of PCI-enabled graphics cards in the channel pushed ATI to revise its projection."

ATI, who originally tried to convince us that 40% of the global graphics card market would consist of PCIe by the end of the year, are now eating their words. It looks like the figure is closer to 25% (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20041007A7050.html) - or, at least, that is ATI's new estimation. PCIe-enabled graphics cards currently account for less than 10% of graphics card sales in the channel. However, around 25-30% of new machines shipped by OEMs have PCIe graphics cards.
