Problem with the sims 2 (This just made my day)

Hello, everyone.
I just bought the Sims 2. I installed it, and every thing went fine. Then, as I attempted to launch the game, I got an error message stating "Error: Could not find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphic adapters. Make sure you have installed the lastest drivers from your manufacturer"

I installed DirectX 9.0c, but, what can I do next?

I have no idea what this means, and I am very frustrated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's talking about the drivers for your video card. You might want to try updating those. It's possible your video card may not support the DirectX version required to play Sims 2 also. Though, I seriously doubt Sims 2 requires DirectX 9.0c.
