Those outside the UK and Ireland won't know who I'm talking about, but the man who was undeniably the best radio DJ of all time, John Peel, died today

Only remaining DJ from BBC Radio 1 from its start, discovered New Order (as Joy Division), the Smiths, the Pogues, the Undertones, introduced the White Stripes to the UK, etc.

Great loss to the music industry.

As you say MYOB John Peel will be sadly missed.

a sad day indeed... he is already sorely missed by millions...

I too, will miss John, not so much for his position as DJ, not my scene, but I'm sure he was excellent at that too, I enjoyed his Radio 4 contributions immensely, God rest his soul, my thoughts are with his family too.
