Putting an image on a hidden partition

I am trying to put an image on a hidden partition of my hard drive so that if I have a program quit working I can just restore my computer from this image. I am using Symantec Ghost 8.0. Do I need to buy a program such as Partition Magic to accomplish this task? My boss seems to think that some kind of software came with this release but I can't seem to figure it out! Thank you.
