Hello members now I need some help ! I have the knoppix cd i would like to install this on my HDD and have dual boot I like the layout of knoppix and been using it while on the CD-Rom ..
I would like to know to install this to my harddrive or should I just get a better version of linux ??
I downloaded the text file that PHANTASM wrote great infromation but this also the the way to do knoppix..
My system specs are in my profile.

You should try and get it to boot from a USB pen drive. That's fun.

I must warn you that installing Knoppix onto the HD is supposed to be fairly difficult. If you give it a shot and decide that it isn't worth it, there is a number of different Linux flavors you can try out. :)

boot to cd
open a terminal window
TYPE THE FOLLOWING LINES, ONE AT A TIME:
su root
knoppix-installer (I tried knoppix-installer-latest-web but this didn't work for me)
I had to do the CD version (not Debian or beginner). Or I kept getting su root errors.
