I am thinking about replacing Windows with a copy of Linux seeing as that I cannot stand Microsoft and their customer support. I play games on my PC, mainly World of Warcraft, and I need to find a program that runs Windows games in a Linux setup. I would appreciate any suggestions from these types of users. I am also curious about the performance of the games running in these conditions. For you to better explain that, my pertinent specs are as follows:
3 ghz P4
2gb DDR ram
geforce 6800gt 256 ram
sound blaster audigy 2 zs
Thanks in advance for the information.

Take a look at these:
DirectX 9 and Half-Life 2 (http://www.winehq.com/?issue=262#DirectX%209%20and%20HalfLife2)
wine-devel mailing list: World of Warcraft (http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-devel/2005/02/0391.html)
I played HL2 and many other D3D games with the help of Cedega (http://www.transgaming.com) when I used Linux.

WineX works best for heavy 3D based games in my experience.
It's not free though. Wine is free, WineX is not.
It is possible though.
