Hello, I have a problem with the printscreen function...
I wanted to take a screen cap from a real or mpeg vid, so i printscreen then opened in paint and pasted it..
But no matter how i save it, it turns out to be a black screen.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
thanks

Nothing wrong with your doings.
It's just the media players usually write the image directly to video memory bypassing Windows. There is no way for the printscreen thing to know what is in the picture.
Most media players let you disable the use of overlays.
In RealPlayer go to Tools->Preferences->Hardware and move the Video Card Compatibility slider to the middle position. Press OK.
Now you should be able to sreencap videos played in Real. Put the slider back into rightmost position when you are done screencapping. Playing high resolution videos without overlays is slow and you may get stuttering otherwise.
thank you very much :haha:
this has been troubling me for awhile

And if you use ALT-PRSCRN it will only capture the current window, not your whole screen. This might be better for you. Give it a try.
