Hello,
A friend of mine gave me a copy of the 3 disk set for installing DOS on a hard drive. For some reason the first disk will not boot and start the install. We have tried xcopy, copy and zipping and then e-mailing the contents of the disk. Still no luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

You cannot xcopy, copy or zip a bootable disk. You have to make a floppy disk image, mail that and then write the image back to a floppy.

Any idea where I can find instructions? First 20 hits with yahoo were a bust.

There's a MS-DOS 6.22 bootdisk at Boot Disk Project (http://oldfiles.org.uk/powerload/bootdisk.htm) site.

Try winimage www.winimage.com
It allows you to back up and create from back up floppies including MS Dos boot and other non-dos disks. It's functional shareware and one of the few shareware tools I actually purchase.

Thanks for the help. Got winimage and it worked like a charm.
