Is this a problem with my Graphics Card?

I use a 6600 GT on an XP Pro.The Comp's specs:

3.00 Ghz
1024 Ram
40 GB Hard Disk

Now last week,I got the mup.sys error.I had to do repair installations to get to XP.I noticed, after formatting, that the mup.sys error comes only when new harware is installed.I installed DirectX 9,and then the error came again.I installed the latest drivers for my card, and then the error came again. If I leave the computer alone, without installing any new stuff,it works fine.

What do I do to solve this strange problem? Is it because of my card or is my Hard Disk corrupt?

Don't know the error.

Maybe do a full defrag and scan for bad sectors.

You need to provide more detail tham mum.sys error. What is the actual error? Is it a stop error, blue screen, etc.
