Comment about Sigma Design's release of MPEG4 codec story

I wasn't sure where else to put this so I figured I'd post it here.

If you go over to DivX.com you'll find the following on their front page. The XVID team has announced that they are halting development, and that's a real shame. Sigma Designs has allegedly taken the XVID code, rebranded it, and released the code as their own REALmagic MPEG-4 Video Codec without giving credit to the XVID authors or adhering to the terms of the General Public License (GPL).
It's good to know that you can release code that isn't your own these days.

And just to top it offSigma Designs' products are not compatible with DivX video, but they continue to promote their products using our DivX™ trademark despite our repeated requests to stop. We haven't had much more luck with them than XVID, and we no longer have any relationship with Sigma Designs.

Just thought that you'd like the whole story.
