hey, i just got Adobe Premeir Elements, im only new to the whol DV editing, im wondering how i can convert my DV tape from my DV cam to mpeg2, when i take the video off the cam i can only convert it to avi. does anyone know?

Now wait for a more positive response before you completely believe this, but I believe that mpeg2 is not a "free" codec. So many AV apps don't include it by default. Its usually an add on.
