Nvidia Forceware 71.84 problems

I posted a similar topic a while ago and I still have the same problems with the newest Forceware version, my games like XIII and NOLF 2 crashes after start up, i.e. the screen goes black and is unresponsive. Anyone suggest any reasons why, I welcome reponses particularly from people who have the latest Geforce driver 71.84, what settings do you have it on so that games actually work?

Did you install the SW drivers? When I did I had all sorts of problems.

What are the SW drivers? The overclocking stuff like Coolbits?

Those are nVidias IDE drivers they use instead of the mocrosoft IDE drivers.

Are they downloaded with the forceware pack? Or are they available as separate downloads.

They are part of the main driver package. WHen installing the drivers it should have given you a propt saying" would you like to install nVidia SW drivers now" or something like that. If not you probably didnt install them. Also try going back to the older version. Sometimes new drivers have glitches.

I have a theory, is the release 70 drivers aimed at Geforce 6 cards whereas release 66 was aimed at Geforce FX cards?
