Do you want to host it in your own web space or have it remotely hosted? Does your web space support PHP and mySQL? If it does then try FunkBoard at http://www.funkboard.co.uk

PHPbb is perhaps the most popular free forum software out there:

If you would have no problem paying, then vBulletin or InvisionBoards would be an even better choice.

I have tried many free boards such as this but Forumotion.com is by far the best one yet, I am happy and confident to say i have stopped my search for free message boards as this has been the best service by far.
My members have been great and have followed my every move to different boards, and they to are very happy.
