Need help here dont know what else to try :S

After windows repair graphic card vanished from device manager

Basically i repaired windows cause it was playing up etc from the windows xp pro cd and i got on the desktop fine its working fine everything apart from the graphics card (gainward ti4200 128mb) is not showing up in the device manager  i have no idea why. Searching google lead to nothing apart from reinstalling windows but i really want to leave that as a last resort.

Anyone know??

AGP, have original and omega drivers. Using it now with VGASAVE drivers

Thanks

After you finished the repair, did you update you Windows os again?

This is because doing a repair install wipes all your Windows updates.

What happens when you try to install the drivers for your card?

Regards Howard :)

yep its fully updated. I can install the drivers (through the wizard) but it doesnt assign itself to nothing because the card its 'looking for' is not there (hopefully that makes sence) :)

Ok cleared this up forgot to post for ages (just remembered)

Basically what you need to do is delete all your motherboard chipset drivers (i deleted all the ones containing the words AGP. On a restart it then reinstalled them all and the graphics card was detected. sorted.
