dvd burner for G4 Ibook

Help,
I bought a panasonic sw9585 dvd burner because it was supposed to be able to burn dvd off my mac with the patchburn 3 app. But I still can't get it to work. It attaches to myG4 with a USB cable. Anyone?

is the drive mac-compatible?

It is supposed to be with the the Patchburn app. Supposedly Mac users have been using it.

Can't get it to work with what? I have a DVD burner that isn't officially supported either, but it works in Toast 6 fine.
