hi all, i just reformatted and reinstalled windows. the problem is i went to install directx, the installation window came up, and i clicked i agree and next, and instead of installing it went straight to the finish button saying it was complete. at first i thought wait a minute thats not right but then kinda just shrugged it off guessing it was just a really quick install. well now some of my games are crashing to desktop with errors saying a whole bunch of different crap that i dont understand but when looking through them i see some directx files listed, like D3D9.dll and such. im guessing directx isnt really installed, but everything indicates that it is, like directx diag. says it is. i cant reinstall because it does the same thing.

anyone know what to do?

DirectxDiag says u have DirectX v9.0c installed but u have crashed games cause of DirectX's files.U should try System Restore to go a previous fine working state

this may help you. Then u should try a clean installation of DirectX that Microsoft provides

It is always a good idea to reinstall your video drivers after upgrading DirectX
