Problems installing ATI Catalyst 5.9

when i try to install ati catalyst 5.9 the installer shuts down and a error message saying that the remote procedure call failed. i have tried installing a earlier catalyst version but it tells me the same thing.

what am i supposed to do?

1. I suppose your system wouldn't even boot at all if the rpc service was disabled, care to check it?
2. Are you trying to install the driver as an admin or user acount?
3. Do you have the correct mobo drivers installed?
4. Some cats (those that use the ccc) require the .NET framework to be installed beforehand. Got net?
