I found this over at Maximum Reboot (http://www.maxreboot.com/). The 6043 drivers are unofficial, unsupported, and supposedly gives OpenGL a good performance increase. Also, it's only available for WinXP and Win2k.

Unfortunantley I don't have the url to our news scrip so I can't post about it but I'll do that as soon as I get home...

I'm also thinking of making a small article about how the FPS increases with the different ATI drivers...

Thanks, Per Hansson. Where I looked, it didn't mention anything about the drivers being for the 8500.... but I did notice that the version numbers were similar to the previous versions...
