No Mouse after BIOS Update

I have recently built a new computer:
Intel D845PESV Mobo
P4 2.8 Ghz 533 FSB
512 MB DDR 333
Asus GeForce FX 5200 AGP with 128 MB
WD 120 GB HD
NEC 16X DVD/RW

Everything was fine until I installed a game that wouldn't run (Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004) I sent the error report to Microsoft and it suggested that I update the BIOS. I went to the Intel site and downloaded the BIOS update and all the driver updates. After running the BIOS update mt mouse will not work. I've tried the mouse on another machine so I know it works. Any suggestions?

Is the mouse a USB mouse?
Did you install your INF files and USB drivers?
