Just curious as whether SETI, Folding or another program was Techspot's DC client of choice? :)

Rick 11-02-2005, 07:12 PM Just curious as whether SETI, Folding or another program was Techspot's DC client of choice? :) Tedster 11-02-2005, 10:16 PM most of these DCs are on the new BOINC system at Berekely U. where the program will automatically flip over when another isn't working (server outage for example) Personally I SETI only. Ad 11-02-2005, 10:16 PM MrGaribaldi 11-03-2005, 09:16 AM Had too much problems with BOINC in the beginning, so I'm still "old-skool" SETI :) Mictlantecuhtli 11-03-2005, 01:36 PM People still use these apps? I haven't crunched anything in over a year. Tedster 11-03-2005, 03:16 PM I am the same. BOINC doesn't work for me. I wish they hadn't eliminated classic seti. Sure why not use unused cycles on your computer..... it would go to waste otherwise. Rick 11-03-2005, 07:49 PM I am the same. BOINC doesn't work for me. I wish they hadn't eliminated classic seti. Sure why not use unused cycles on your computer..... it would go to waste otherwise. Electricity bill might be one reason. ;) Tedster 11-03-2005, 08:31 PM hmmm. I'm not so poor I can't afford to waste a few $ on science. SNGX1275 11-04-2005, 07:58 PM I quit running them on my home PCs, well it will run again on my K6-2 400 if I ever get around to hooking it up. Hasn't been hooked up since I moved. But I'm still running it on my machine at work. Classic Seti, not that BIONIC crap. Ad 11-04-2005, 07:58 PM Tedster 11-04-2005, 08:26 PM I run 'em on both (work and home) but the work computers are so flakey it often crashes.... the server sucks in our building. |
