On my old computert that is running as a server now. the processor fan went up. so i bought a new one. but i was wondering which way should the air be blowing. Into the heatsink or pulling air through it?

Certain heatsink makers such as Alpha concieve them in a way that's best suited for the air to be sucked away from the heatsink. The general rule is air towards the heatsink though.
