Hi, i have a movie thats just below 700 megs, and it's in an .avi format. What i want to do is convert it to some file in which i can pop a cd into my dvd player and play it.

What program could you recommend for doing this? I want just about the same quality of the original movie format, but i heard that VCD has to be at a certain low resolution. Any tips?

You can try SVCD, that is a better quality, however you might be forced to put it on 2 cd's. Anyway I used to use a program called DVD2SVCD. Give it a shot.
