i just repaired my windows today and when I first start, my internet browser (firefox) works fine. After around 5 minutes, no pages load and it times out. The wierd thing is IE does the same thing with "this page cannot be displayed". I know it can't be a modem or router problem because my notebook works fine on a wireless connection. Even my AIM works during this "downtime". The browser just wont let me go to any pages. help!

Explain "repaired my windows today". What happened and what did you do? Why did you have to repair?

Sounds like you should take the first step of making sure your system is clean. Have you run the battery of cleaning tools? Adaware, spybot, HJT, ccleaner, Ewido, etc... Look for the sticky threads in the Security forum for this process.
