My bitdefender wont update, I click update and 5 seconds later it says an error occured while performing the update

The first thing to try is uninstalling, and reinstalling the programme.

If that doesn`t work, you could always use the free AVG antivirus programme, and the free Sygate firewall.

Bitdefender sux! I had v8 Pro. It finds more stuff than Norton, however it seems to run constantly in the background even if you tell it not to load at windows startup. I've never had 1 application slow my computer down so much. It was absurd. As soon as I uninstalled it...BAM!, back to full speed. I would also recomment AVG at http://www.grisoft.com

Usually happens with pirated software. My friend did that and it wouldnt even run scans...
