Getting started with Mac OS X

Ok, I just got my mac from my fiance, and it has OS X and OS 9 on it. Anyway...I was wondering how I could get some programs to be stuck at the bottom in the quick launch part. There are a few there I don't want, but I would like to add a few more. Any help would be appreciated.

Also if anyone knows of a good OS X tweak site, or beginner site so I can get familiar with how htings work would be appreciated as well.

TIA

Simple Poert - in OS X just drag the actual application to the launcher. It'll be there from then on - also, any that you want to get rid of just drag off of the bar - they will poof into smoke and be gone! Can't really help you on a tweak site though, sorry. Msg me anytime if you need a hand - prolly be easiest in #3DSpotlight.

Thanks guys, I figured I could catch you in the channel, but thought I'd ask on here in case anyone else had the same question.
