Please Help With External Hard Drive

I have a beyond micro external hardrive (connected through the USB port) that I just got about 3 weeks ago. I have sucessfully used it for about 2 weeks with my laptop. Through this time I never disconnected the hard drive from my computer. I recently disconnected it from my computer and tryed to reconnect it. The computer does not even recognize the hard drive as being conected to it. Does anybody know what to do to make the computer recognize the hard drive?

Try this. Go to the Device Manager in the Control Panel > System. Find the device and uninstall it. Restart and let Windows find reinstall the drive.
