Quark activation

Hi, a friend of mine purchased a copy of Quark a month ago. They ignored all the activation notices and now it basically only works in a kind of demo mode. I optimistacally told them to uninstall and reinstall, but cleary something has happened in the registry as it's remembered the serial and they're not getting the option to activate it.
Anyone know how I can get it to connect to Quark's servers to get it activated?
