I need a free fax software

I'm aware of the winxp built-in fax service but I find it too cumbersome to use. What's a good alternative fax software? I'm not paying for a fax service as I already have a modem.

I have tried a few, but most I found were not much better than the built in one. So I have decided to stick with that. At one time, Norton systemworks had a fax program in it, but I think that they have long since removed it.
