Sparkle 6600GT issues

Hi,

I've got a Sparkle 6600GT 128MB AGP which is about 18 months old. Just yesterday I began to get weird color patterns on my screen (see pics below).

(Background should be black)

I tried updating to the latest drivers, no change. Tried it in a different PC, same display artifacts. I've never overclocked it or anything and it has run fine for the 18 months since I brought it. The fan is running fine, and there is barely any dust on the card itself.

Is there anything I can do? Is it toast? I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty (only a 12 month warranty I think) so I've got nothing to lose in order to get it running again.

PC Specs:

Gigabyte K8 Triton
Enermax 350watt P/S
AMD64 3500+
1 Gig of Dual Channel DDR

Many thanks,
Glen

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Unfortunately your video card is bad.

You need to get a new video card.

Regards Howard :)

Most likely Howard is correct, but you might try reseating your card again. Also disconnect any extras (floppy, dvd, cd etc you don't need to boot). This will check if you have a dieing PSU. (350W is low and Enermax are not always good) How old is your PSU?

Try lowering the Core/Memory speeds & see if you still have the same problem.
