Joining video files

I have some video files i need to join and i usually use an avi/mpeg joiner but the program wont recognise the file. I think they maybe Divx or Xvid files does anybody know if there are any programs i can use to join video in this format.

Uhm.. It would sort of help if we knew what the non-working "an" joiner was :p

I always recommend VirtualDub for all your basic video editing - it's free, open source and no adware bull****.

The avi joiner i usually use is the Boilsoft Avi/Mpeg joiner version 4.61

VirtualDub should do the trick as long as you have the right codec decompressor
there are other utilitys that you can get at sourceforge that will tell you what typo files it is
