Hi, does anyone have any tips on virus removal from an iMac?

I didnt think iMacs were targeted all that often by viruses, but it appears my friend has a virus on his machine. I was wondering if there are similar procedures for removal as there are on Pcs?? He has already run norton, whicvh advised hinm it could not fix the problem.

Is there aprehaps a similar program as HJT for the Mac?

I am probably going to go have a look at it on monday but I am sweating a little as Im no great mac expert; hence this post!

Any help will be much appreciated

From my knowledge there is only one publicly reported virus for MAC OSx. I am no mac user myself, but I am assuming the iMAC runs OSx. Google on "virus + mac + OSx" or some variant of that.

A more precise description of said popup would help a lot.

I have to apologise guys:

I spoke to my friend again and I had misheard him - he has two computers, and the virus problem is on the PC not the Mac. So Hopefully that shouldnt be a major problem.

Im sorry for wasting your time.
