I hope someone can understand this. My problem..
I use Alcohol 120% and have the remains of a virtual drive left over on my PC, Device Manager recognises it as plug and play bios extension with a configuration problem. Driver details as follows.. Device Instance Id is ROOT\SYSTEM\0003, Hardware Ids is root\a348bus and Service is a348bus. I can't find it to save my life and desperately want to get rid of it as on startup it always recognises new hardware. I have looked in the drivers folders etc. I do have another valid driver/extension for an Alcohol virtual drive though, listed as vax347b by the way. Any help is appreciated.

Search the system registry for this a384bus string and delete all the entries.
The driver details ought to tell you the driver file too. Delete it.

Hi thanks again Nodsu, had already tried all what you are saying. Don't know if I checked everywhere using regedit, but I'm sure I deleted all the folders/entries where the driver name was listed in the title. Will look again, but obviously I was being cautious and have to be of course with the registry. Thanks I will try again will post if I'm not sure about deleting something.
