Please Need Router Help

I have a linksys wireless g usb adapter and i dont know how to access it on the web to change the config. could someone help me, i got to Http://192.168.0.1 and allt he others ones but i cant figure out with one is right for me, ty for the help

They usually say on the bottom, but try

192.168.1.1, 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.2.1

Make sure you only enter the numbers in the address bar,DO NOT USE http:// or www. as this does not work.

Its possible that if it's second hand the previous owner changed the LAN settings, this will alter the address you would type to get to it.

In this case pull the mains then hold in the reset button whilst powering it on for 30 seconds.
Then retry the addresses.

Uhm.. You don't access wireless adapters through a web page. That is for wireless access point and routers.

And the http:// prefix will work just fine.

Doh I never saw that.

And no if I enter the HTTP on a linksys router it doesn't work.

like this http://192.168.1.1
works every time
adapters don't use this you can ping the adapter ip address if you had set one up
look in usb devices through the my computer /computer management screen
you may not have it installed proper
have you looked at network devices??

The http:// prefix means HyperText Trasfer Protocol, which means "a web page" and also that the connection should be made to TCP port 80.

If you omit the prefix, then the browser checks if the hostname starts with "ftp." and if it should use the FTP protocol. If that is not the case, the browser assumes HTTP and port 80 - exactly the same that you would get with the http:// prefix.
