compatibility of Lexmark X73 with HP LaserJet 2100

I have a Windows 2000 desktop with an HP LaserJet 2100. I recently installed a Lexmark X73 combination printer/scanner/copier as well. Unfortunately, the Lexmark seems to only be willing to print to the LaserJet. I have tried changing the Lexmark to the default printer, but this did not help. There doesn't seem to be a way to 'choose' the desired printer from within the Lexmark's Scan & Copy Control Program as there is in Word, for example. I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix this as I would like to be able to copy/scan and print to the Lexmark (the print cartridges are cheaper, for one thing!).

Many thanks,

Penney
