AVG anti-virus and Epson scanner

Hello,
I have the free version of AVG on my computer. I also have an Epson scanner. The scanner worked fine when I had Norton on my computer. Now that I have AVG, I must disable AVG before the scanner will work. I have contacted Epson, and they said it is an AVG issue. Have you heard of this problem? Do you know why this is happening, and can it be fixed?

It's an issue they said. They are working on it as we speak. Until then the only thing you can do is disable AVG when you need to use it.
