Monitor turns off

Just a few minutes ago my Dell Monitor turned off but i could still hear music that I was playing. All I was doing was chatting on IRC, teamspeak, browsing the web and playing music.

I have my hardware acceleration on "Disable all but basic accelerations"

I resetted and it turned back on but wtf?
