ok i just got the game today. in the begining of the game i get this error all the time: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/7918/capturewiz0143xm.jpg . i got ATI Redeon X800 Pro 256mb(driver version is up to date), AMD 3200+ and Asus K8N-E motherboard. i did not have this problem when i playd hl2.ive tried reinstalling it but it didnt work out. any suggestions?

Are you using the latest Catalyst driver?

yes before i play it i updated the driver version and the cataulst control center.

I downloaded the latest dx9 (DirectX End-User Runtimes (Full Download)
but didn`t seem to work then went to steams forums and it says to disable
programs like p2p and stuff like that,so i switched off these progs

sysmatrix

It might be an idea to uninstall the game before doing the above.

I suggest you try all other possibilities in that thread first.Different solutions work for different situations.
