IH8PunkRock 06-27-2006, 03:22 PM ok my friend noticed there is no drive b. recently i was looking in my bios and i found something about drive B. so what is a drive B and what is it used for? fastco 06-27-2006, 03:53 PM Drive B is for a floppy drive if you have one..... Ad 06-27-2006, 03:53 PM howard_hopkinso 06-27-2006, 03:59 PM Fastco is quite correct. Letters A and B are reserved for floppy drives. If you had two floppy drives, one would have the drive letter "A", while the other would be assigned the drive letter "B". Regards Howard :) IH8PunkRock 06-27-2006, 06:46 PM ok i was hoping it was some secret drive that had some odd disc or somethin. confused001 06-28-2006, 12:54 AM Back in the old days, they had something called a 5 1/2 floppy drive. The disks were very flat, and floppy, hence the name. These floppy drives were very large, and they could not hold much information. They took it out, and they just left the letter there. |
