Game Cube, broken CD spindle

The disc spindle on my Game Cube doesn't work anymore. My Cube won't read/spin the game discs.

I have no idea why the spindle stopped working. Is there anything at all I can do to fix it?? Or do I have to have it replaced?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You can go here http://www.xboxrepairguide.com/gamecube-minidvd-c-22_38_83.html
buy the drive, open up the case and just replace the drive. It's really just a small PC inside.

Go to the closest electronics shop near by you and ask for a CD lens cleaning disc. I'm sure they'll have it. I had the same problem. Oh soz, I thought it was the laser that was the problem, not the spindle. Maybe you should just buy the next gen console instead of reparing your GC.
