The Mozilla Firebird project (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/) is a redesign of Mozilla's browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform.

This release features a fresh new look designed by Arvid Axelsson, a redesigned preferences window, preliminary support for Mac OS X and much more. BTW, I spotted this bit of news over at Neowin (http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?category=software&id=11084).
